Riga summit declaration should reflect new dynamics of Ukraine-EU relations - Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects a positive assessment of the implementation by Kyiv of the Action Plan on the liberalization of visa regime with the EU from the European Commission.
"Having informed that the results of the assessment mission, which analyzes the fulfillment of Ukraine's obligations regarding the visa-free regime with the EU will be announced on May 12, the president noted that Ukraine hopes to get positive conclusions and suggests setting a specific date for its introduction, as well as establishing specific steps Ukraine should take to achieve this," the Ukrainian president's press service reported after a meeting of Poroshenko with Italy's Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni Silveri in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"The final document of the summit in Riga should meet the new dynamics of relations between Ukraine and the EU," the Ukrainian president said having expressed hope for Italy's support in this matter.
