Ukraine calls on Russia to influence separatists to finally demilitarize Shyrokyne

In a course of Trilateral Contact Group's talks on Wednesday Ukraine called on Russia to influence on the representatives of so-called 'Donetsk People's Republic' and 'Luhansk People's Republic' so that promptly address the urgent concerns, a source close to group told Interfax-Ukraine.

"Ukrainian party calls on Russia to assist in solution of the sharpest as of today issues – demilitarization of Shyrokyne, withdrawal of tanks, as well as mortars and other weaponry with below 100mm caliber from the contact line, deployment of constant points of the delegates from Joint Center for Control and Coordination in ten of the most problematic areas," the agency's interlocutor said.

First of all, the matter concerns the village of Shyrokyne and the area near Donetsk airport.

"The attention also has been drawn to the absence of the progress in release of the hostages and delivery of humanitarian aid to the territories, which aren't under control of Ukraine," the interlocutor said.
