Ukrainian energy minister cuts short visit to U.S. over miners' protests
Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn has to cut short his participation in the international energy conference CERAWeek 2015 in Houston, Texas, and a working visit to the United States and urgently returns to Kyiv over miners' protests.
"Due to miners' pickets, the minister has decided to end his working visit to the United States a day and a half ahead of schedule. We are leaving for Kyiv today," head of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry European integration department Mykhailo Bno-Airiyan tweeted from Houston.
"Regretfully, we are cancelling many important and useful meetings," the official added.
