Poroshenko urges French Senate to ratify EU-Ukrainian Association Agreement as soon as possible
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with Chairman of French Senate Gerard Larcher, and he urged Larcher to ratify the EU-Ukrainian Association Agreement as soon as possible.
"During the meeting with Chairman of French Senate Gerard Larcher, [Poroshenko] urged [the senate] to ratify the EU-Ukrainian Association Agreement as soon as possible," reads a post on Poroshenko's Twitter page on Wednesday.
According to Poroshenko's press service, the parties discussed the participation of Ukrainian parliamentarians in a meeting scheduled for May 7, which will include a debate on Ukraine and issues related to the ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
"Today is a very important day in the history of Ukrainian-French relations," Poroshenko said when assessing the results of his official visit to France.
Commenting on the reforms which are being made in Ukraine, Poroshenko said: "We're interested in cutting the distance between a person and the government."
