PACE session to open in Strasbourg, Ukrainian security on agenda
The spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) opens in the French city of Strasbourg on Monday.
According to the Council of Europe's press service, one of the key issues will be the report of Dutch MEP Pieter Omtzigt on the CIA's mass surveillance of European citizens.
In addition, a request to hold a debate entitled "Political and Security Situation in Ukraine and its Consequences" has been registered.
One of the issues on the agenda is a possible review of the decision on the credentials of the Russian delegation to PACE.
King Philippe of Belgium and Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders will speak during the PACE session. Belgium currently chairs the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
