Rada determines number of SBU staff in peace, special period, or war
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has differentiated the number of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) employees during peace, a special period, and war.
A total of 268 MPs supported presidential bill No. 2472 on amendments to the law on the common structure and number of SBU employees during a parliamentary session on Thursday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.
The general number of SBU employees is currently 31,050 people.
The recently adopted law foresees 27,000 security officers in peace and 31,000 in a special period.
During times of war the number of security officers will be determined according to special period mobilization plan.
