Kuchma hopes for deal on withdrawal of weapons less than 100 mm caliber in Donbas
Ukraine's second president Leonid Kuchma, who represents Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group, is optimistic about the possibility of reaching agreements on the withdrawal of weapons of caliber of less than 100 mm from the contact line in eastern Ukraine.
"We have just discussed this proposal made by the Ukrainian side, the president. We should add to those heavy weapons tanks and 82 mm caliber mortars and all weapons of caliber of less than 100 mm. They [militants] are more or less positive about that," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
Kuchma also said he is hoping such an agreement will be reached.
