Russia's policy aimed at splitting EU – ex-Polish president Kwasniewski
Russia continues to adhere to a policy aimed at splitting the unity of the EU, former President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski has said.
"Russia does not have one European policy, but 28+1. Twenty-eight is bilateral relations with EU member states; the one is the least important – with Brussels. Knowing that, the EU and European leaders must do as much as they can to ensure this policy fails," Kwasniewski said in an interview on ICTV channel on Sunday.
According to him, Russia's policy towards the EU is connected to Russian President Vladimir Putin's belief that the EU is an artificial structure which won't last, and that Russia should work with different EU members so that at a certain point the EU will fall, just like the Soviet Union.
