At around 14:00 on Monday, an artillery shell exploded in a yard in the village of Znamenivka, Dnipropetrovsk region, the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine has reported.
"The shell didn't cause any casualties or destroy any buildings. Two windows were broken, possibly by an explosion," the press service said.
According to the ministry, the accident happened during a firing exercise at a nearby military base.
"According to preliminary expert conclusions, the reason for the accident might be a technical malfunction. The exercise has been suspended until the circumstances [of the accident] are investigated," the press service reported.
