Australian sanctions against Russia start up – Australian Foreign Minister
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has said that sanctions against Russia have come into effect, The Australian reported.
The new restrictions are connected to trade in arms, mining equipment, financial instruments and infrastructure investment "in response to Russia's ongoing aggression and threats to Ukraine."
According to Bishop, the Australian sanctions are similar to those implemented by Europe, Canada and the U.S.
The decision to impose sanctions was made in September 2014.
