Abromavicius urges OECD member states to contribute to Ukraine's reforms
Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius has delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the Anti-Corruption Forum of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and met with OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria to discuss further cooperation with Ukraine.
The minister, while addressing the forum's delegates, said this was a chance to directly express the Ukrainian authorities' desire to combat corruption at all levels.
"Abromavicius made it clear that the recent resignations and even arrests of the corrupt officials ought to demonstrate to all that a fight against unfair officials has started regardless of the posts they hold," reads a report issued by the minister's spokesperson
During a meeting after the forum, Gurria said that Abromavicius had said he sincerely backs reforms in Ukraine and the desire of its leadership to use the best world practices in anti-corruption laws, laws on state enterprises, and the rule of law in general.
