Merkel, Hroisman discuss situation in Donbas, reforms in Ukraine
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Hroisman have discussed the situation in Donbas and the ongoing process of reform in Ukraine.
"We feel your gradual and systematic support, both in the 'Normandy format', as well as in the economic and humanitarian spheres," the parliament's press service quotes Hroisman as saying during his meeting with Merkel.
Hroisman thanked Merkel for her consistent position on Ukraine.
Later on, Hroisman told journalists that he saw in Merkel "a partner and a real friend of Ukraine."
When commenting on the recent ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement by Germany, Hroisman said that it was "historic for our states, as well as for the European Union."
On March 25-26, Hroisman went to Germany on an official visit.
