Ukraine to ask FBI help investigate crimes of emergencies watchdog's heads
Ukraine's Interior Ministry will turn to the U.S. FBI for assistance in an investigation of corrupt schemes used by head of the Ukrainian Emergency Situations Service Serhiy Bochkovsky and his deputy Vasyl Stoyetsky, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said.
"Taking into account that this is the U.S. jurisdiction, we'll turn to the FBI for maximum possible assistance in the investigation of this corruption-related crime," Avakov said on Channel 5 on Wednesday evening.
According to him, the Ukrainian police have established quite good professional contacts with the FBI. "They're always open to consideration, especially in such types of cases," he said.
