Railways leaders' attempts to plunder country doomed - Yatseniuk
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has announced that official investigations will be launched into the actions of the leaders of certain railways, while opening a government meeting in Kyiv on March 25.
"The railways leaders' attempts to continue plundering the country and to escape responsibility are doomed," he said.
As reported, on March 4 Yatseniuk announced the dismissal of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways Chief Oleksiy Kryvopishyn in connection with media reports about corruption at the enterprise. Ukrzaliznytsia Acting CEO Maksym Blank said in turn that the railways' employees were under pressure, as was mentioned in the media reports. On March 11 he instructed the railways acting head to bring to justice those responsible for the pressure. On the same day, the railways denied Blank's allegations.
