Poroshenko: No puppet armies possible, territorial defense must be subordinate to armed forces

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that units and battalions of the territorial defense system must be part of the vertical structure of the national armed forces and be subordinated to them.

"The system of territorial defense will be subordinated to a clearly-organized vertical military structure. None of our governors will have puppet armed forces," the Ukrainian president said at the National Defense Academy on Monday.
