Rada allows intelligence agencies to conduct special operations in occupied areas of Donbas
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has confirmed the legal right of the Ukrainian intelligence agencies to infiltrate international terrorist organizations and organizations carrying out sabotage attacks against Ukraine.
Bill No. 2383 on making amendments to certain laws of Ukraine on the intelligence agencies of Ukraine was adopted at first reading with the support of 258 MPs on Thursday.
The author of the bill, MP Serhiy Pashynsky, said the bill gave the intelligence agencies the right to conduct special operations in the occupied territories.
According to the amendments, the Defense Ministry's intelligence agencies can involve the Ukrainian military in gathering information and can use the military to combat terrorism.
In addition, the intelligence agencies will be able to buy special technical equipment for reconnaissance.
The adopted law also normalizes the work on mobilization carried out by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
