Kyiv urgently allots funds to security line on border with Russia
Ukraine should rapidly build a security line along the border with Russia, and the government should urgently allot the money, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
"Considering the tasks set by the president, the government and the National Security and Defense Council, we need to urgently build the security line. The funding will stand at UAH 865 million," Yatseniuk said in his opening remarks at a government meeting on Wednesday.
A decision to allot money for the fortifications from the Reserve Fund will be made on Wednesday, the premier said.
"This will save the lives of Ukrainian servicemen and keep the entire Ukrainian border safe," he added.
