Defense in depth in Donbas to be created in shortest terms - Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the effective defense line in Donbas should be created in the shortest terms, the presidential press service has reported.
"Taking into account our experience, best samples of fortification, trench shelters and location of fortified points, we should build the high effective and deep defense in the shortest terms," the president said at a meeting with heads of regional administrations.
Poroshenko said that each region should be involved in building fortifications.
"Each region should make its fair share of contribution in fortification works if we don't want to meet enemy in our town," the president said, adding that a certain part of work would be reserved for each region and the regions will be responsible for the terms and quality of works.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and heads of law enforcement agencies and ministries took part in the meeting.
