Two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in Donbas over the past 24 hours but there were no fatalities, anti-terrorist operation (ATO) staff spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.
"We had no fatalities over the past 24 hours, yet two servicemen suffered injuries," he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
According to the Mariupol Defense public organization, four servicemen (three of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and one of the National Guard) were wounded in the shelling of the village of Shyrokyne in Donetsk region on Thursday.
"The enemy shelled ATO positions five times yesterday. Four servicemen were injured, among them three soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and one serviceman of the National Guard," the organization wrote on Facebook on Friday.
Shyrokyne was attacked twice overnight with grenade launchers and small arms. "There were no casualties in the overnight bombardments," Mariupol Defense said.
The militants started shelling positions in Shyrokyne in the morning and continued to do so in the afternoon, the report said.
