Cabinet asks Rada to authorize Ukrainian courts to pass verdicts on foreigners
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will send a bill on allowing Ukrainian courts to consider lawsuits against foreign states for illegal actions against Ukrainian citizens or companies to parliament, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at a meeting of the Cabinet in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"Shortly, we'll address the parliament regarding the adoption of the bill on jurisdictional and property immunity of a foreign state," he said.
According to Yatseniuk, the adoption of the law will allow a plaintiff to address Ukrainian courts on the illegal nationalization of their property in Crimea by Russia.
In addition, Yatseniuk said that the Justice Minister had to prepare its explanation of why it is necessity to adopt the law for parliament.
