Police qualify recent Odesa blast as act of terrorism
Police have qualified an overnight explosion in the Odesa-based office of the Samopomich party as an act of terrorism.
"Criminal proceedings have begun to probe into the incident under Part 1 of Article 258 (terrorism) of Ukraine's Criminal Code. The punishment for the crime is imprisonment for a term of from five to ten years with or without confiscation of property," the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's press service reported on Thursday.
As was reported, an explosion ripped through the Admiralsky business center in Odesa, southern Ukraine, at around 00:40 Kyiv time on Thursday. Unknown persons detonated an explosive device planted near the door to the office leased by the Samopomich party.
