Kyiv confirms militants handed over 50 bodies of Ukrainian military killed near Debaltseve
The Ukrainian authorities have taken 50 bodies of Ukrainian military servicemen killed near Debaltseve from the militants, Markiyan Lubkivsky, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Yesterday, we took the bodies of our fifty servicemen who were killed near Debaltseve. We are working closely with the Defense Ministry's center on military and civilian assistance. We are working on the assumption that the remains of our servicemen should be handed over to their families, who will then be able to bury them according to Christian traditions. For this reason, it's not an exchange, it's an unconditional handover," he said on Friday.
