ICRC ready to become mediator over issue of prisoner exchange in Donbas

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is ready to become a neutral mediator and promote prisoner exchange in Donbas, ICRC President Peter Maurer said.

According to the ICRC press release issued following Mauer's visit to Moscow and Kyiv, the ICRC president added that a prisoner exchange between the conflict sides was among the provisions of the Minsk agreements that drew a positive response. He said the ICRC is prepared to become a neutral mediator and has offered its services to all sides.
