ICRC president to visit Ukraine to discuss cooperation on Donbas - Ukrainian Foreign Ministry
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Peter Maurer will visit Ukraine on February 25-27 to discuss cooperation with Kyiv.
"He will come to discuss cooperation between Ukraine and the ICRC in the context of the humanitarian situation in the east of our country caused by Russia's aggression," Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said at a news briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"It is known that, in sending its so-called humanitarian convoys to Ukraine, Russia has ignored the position of the ICRC, whose representatives have repeatedly pointed out to Moscow that the transportation of any humanitarian cargo through the border without this organization's involvement is unacceptable," Perebyinis said.
