Situation on border with Crimea under control, defense being boosted by authorities

The situation on the administrative border with annexed Crimea is currently stable and under control, despite Russia rotating its troops and actively building fortified structures, commander of the "Polissia" tactical mobile group Ihor Fedorov has said.

On Monday, Fedorov attended a tactical meeting with representatives of Kherson regional defense, security and law enforcement agencies, and Kherson governor Andriy Putilov. Fedorov said that the region's defense, particularly in areas near to the administrative border with Crimea, was being reinforced by additional military units who have experience of fighting in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone.

Both volunteers and the regional state administration are involved in the rotation of Ukrainian servicemen.

Head of the Ukrainian army's deployment headquarters Yuriy Kolisnichenko said that reinforcing Kherson region with additional forces is a part of the prospect plan on developing the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The plan foresees the creation of additional and permanent military structures in Kherson region.
