Battle under way near Shyrokyne in Donetsk region, lots wounded - Ukrainian govt forces

The village of Shyrokyne in Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, has been virtually destroyed because of an artillery battle between Ukrainian government forces and their armed opponents, and a lot of members of the Azov special regiment incorporated have been wounded.

"Shyrokyne has been virtually wiped out during an artillery battle. The enemy's Grads [multiple rocket launchers] and artillery are pounding the village uninterruptedly. A lot of people have been wounded. New forces are joining the battle," the Azov regiment said on its VKontakte account.

The Azov regiment expects support from other units of the Ukrainian armed forces, it said.

The Ukrainian government forces have taken a lot of prisoners in the battle, it said.
