Parliament rejects amendments to law on homeowner associations
The Ukrainian parliament has rejected draft law No. 0961 on amendments to the law on homeowner associations regarding the prevention of the violation of rights of apartment and nonresidential premises owners.
Speaker Volodymyr Hroisman put the issue on rejecting the draft law to a vote and 164 lawmakers supported the proposal. The speaker declared that the draft law was rejected.
Hroisman did not put the proposal of the Ukrainian president to reject the draft law to a vote.
The president explained his proposal by saying that the amendments proposed in the document restrict the right of co-owners of apartment houses to agree or disagree over the access to ownership and the use of common property of persons who gain membership of homeowner associations.
