Militants used Smerch launchers when shelling Kramatorsk – Ukrainian military
Militants shelled the airport and residential houses in Kramatorsk on Tuesday with Smerch multiple rocket launchers, spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Vladyslav Selezniov told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The thing is that militants fired not only at military targets - the airfield, they purposefully shelled the town. They used Smerch and not Tornado multiple rocket launchers. The debris sticking out of the ground in the town can be clearly seen, their caliber is much larger than that of Grad rockets. These are Smerch systems. Their range is sufficient for the rockets to come from the territory of Horlivka, and they [the multiple rocket launchers] are very powerful. Therefore, there are many casualties among the civilian residents of Kramatorsk," he told the agency on Tuesday.
