Ukrainian General Staff reports fighting on Debaltseve-Artemivsk road

Tensions persist on the Debaltseve-Artemivsk road in the Donetsk region, and the Ukrainian army keeps fighting the enemy, acting spokesman for the Ukrainian General Staff Vladyslav Selezniov said.

The army "is seeking to block and destroy militants on that stretch of the road," he said.

"The situation remains tense at the moment. The ATO staff is sending special units to the area for [the purpose of] blocking and destroying the militants," Selezniov said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Army operation spokesman Anatoliy Stelmakh said that Ukrainian positions were attacked 35 times last night and things were most complicated in the Debaltseve sector.

In the words of Stelmakh, gunfire has been going on 24/7 in Debaltseve.

The enemy has also become active in the Mariupol sector, he said.
