State Film Agency bans another 20 Russian movies and TV series
The State Film Agency of Ukraine has banned 20 films made in Russia based on the recommendation of the expert commission on the distribution and broadcasting of movies.
"The movies were screened at the request of '1+1 Studio' TV and Radiobroadcasting Company that addressed the State Film Agency, asking to provide an expert assessment of the list of series/movies made in Russia in order to support its own initiative to refuse to broadcast movies and TV-shows about Russian soldiers, police, etc. The list contained 25 series/movies, and the expert commission on the distribution and broadcasting of movies recommended that 20 of them be banned from being broadcasted on TV, public commercial video and home video in Ukraine," reads the agency's statement on Thursday.
Head of the State Film Agency of Ukraine Pylyp Illyenko said: "These movies are a perfect example of propaganda films in the worst sense. We're sure that there's no place for such movies on our screens at the time of announced war on Ukraine."
