Poroshenko, Tusk agree to coordinate further steps towards Donbas peace
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko and President of the European Union Donald Tusk had a telephone conversation, during which they agreed to further cooperate and closely coordinate all international steps towards the peaceful resolution of the situation in Donbas, the Ukrainian president's press office said.
"The head of state and the EU president coordinated their positions on the peaceful resolution of the situation in Donbas and agreed on the need for coherent steps towards compliance with the Minsk accords. They also stressed the need for an immediate, unconditional bilateral ceasefire and a clear roadmap for removal of heavy weaponry and troops from the dividing line," the spokesperson said on Thursday.
The Ukrainian president also noted Tusk's important role in consolidating the EU support for Ukraine.
