U.S. studying idea of arms supplies to Kyiv, does not want to escalate conflict - State Department
The US administration is considering the idea of arms supply to Ukraine, but at the same time is aware of the need to avoid the escalation of conflict in the country, State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said on Tuesday.
"We don't believe that military escalation is the appropriate or most effective means of proceeding. But we continue to consider a range of requests, what's most appropriate. Nothing has changed about our policy at this point in time," she said at a briefing.
One of the journalists asked Psaki if U.S. State Secretary John Kerry was ready to announce in Kyiv about the supply of arms by U.S. to Ukraine.
"No. This is an ongoing process and we've not taken things on or off the table, as I mentioned yesterday, but I'm not making a prediction of anything else," she said.
