Fighting near Debaltseve lasted 4 hours - Ukrainian military operation press center
Militants attacked Ukrainian government forces' positions near Debaltseve in the early hours of Wednesday, the press center of the Ukrainian anti-terrorist operation has reported.
Fighting near Debaltseve continued from 1050 local time on Tuesday to nearly 0300 on Wednesday, during which militants attempted to seize some Ukrainian military strongholds, the press center said.
The Ukrainian government forces' positions within the ATO area were fired upon 25 times in the early hours of February 4, it said.
"The largest number of shells fired was recorded in the Luhansk section," the report says. In particular, militants used Grad multiple rocket launchers, grenade launchers, and mortars to shell Schastia, Stary Aidar, Stanytsia-Luhanska, Verkhnia Vilkhivka, and Nyzhne, it said.
Ukrainian troops killed 18 and injured 55 other members of illegal armed groups in the said period of time, it said.
The press center did not report any casualties among the Ukrainian government forces.
