Head-on collision involving mini-bus with Ukrainian number plate in Belgorod region kills eleven
A head-on collision between a mini-bus and a KamAZ truck in the Belgorod region has killed eleven people and wounded five, a source at the Russian Interior Ministry press center told Interfax.
"At around 7 a.m. on Wednesday in the village of Sovetskoye in the Alexeyevsky district of the Belgorod region, the driver of a mini-bus with Ukrainian registration plates carrying 14 passengers, presumably, Ukrainian residents, onboard, passed into an oncoming lane for an unknown reason," the source said.
Three KamAZ trucks were moving along that lane at the moment. "The drivers of the first two trucks managed to avoid a collision but the driver of the third KamAZ could not do so," he said.
The chief of the Belgorod region traffic police went to the accident site.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis told Interfax-Ukraine that they were checking if there were Ukrainian nationals among the min-ibus passengers.
