Cabinet to give Luhansk governor powers to manage regional budget - deputy PM
It is impossible to approve the budget of Luhansk region due to the absence of regional council there, so the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers will have to make a number of important decisions to address this issue, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko has said.
"You know that there is no regional council there, they have dispersed or fled the responsibility. Therefore, there is no one to approve the regional budget," the deputy prime minister said at a briefing in Severodonetsk on Friday.
In this connection, the government plans to approve a resolution, which gives the head of Luhansk Regional State Administration powers to manage the regional budget, Zubko said.
He stressed that the government would not allow paralyzing the region's life and plans to take a number of decisions important for the region.
