Ukrainian foreign minister to discuss Donbas at meetings in Brussels
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin will visit a number of European organizations in the context of an extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on Thursday, convened at Ukraine's request in light of a series of terrorist attacks against civilians.
"The minister plans to meet with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini to coordinate their positions regarding ways to settle the situation in Donbas," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
Klimkin will also hold bilateral conversations with European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmstrom, and a number of foreign ministers from EU member-states.
"Key significance will be attached to the exacerbation of the situation in eastern Ukraine in the context of Russia's consistent failure to honor […] the Minsk agreements," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
Klimkin is already in Brussels, where he has met with new Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias.
