Rally to free Savchenko held near Russian embassy in Tel Aviv
Over 400 protestors gathered on January 26 near the Russian embassy in Israel demanding that Russia immediately stop its aggression against Ukraine and release Ukrainian pilot, MP Nadia Savchenko.
According to the Editor on Israel and CIS states at the "Forum Daily" newspaper, the rally was organized by the "Israeli Friends of Ukraine" NGO. It was one of the largest in Israel based on the number of participants.
The organizers said that right after the beginning of the rally, lights were turned off in the rooms facing the protestors, and were switched on in rooms on the other side of the building.
According to the organizers, the shelling of Mariupol undoubtedly made a lot of the Israelis come out and protest that day.
"Israeli Friends of Ukraine" NGO was created on Facebook during the Revolution of Dignity.
