Ukrzaliznytsia sees no prerequisites for resuming railway traffic to Crimea
The State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia does not see any possibility of resuming railway traffic with Crimea, due to security.
Ukrzaliznytsia acting CEO Maksym Blank said this at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
"With regard to Crimea, this is the problem of passenger traffic security. Today the situation is only getting worse in terms of security. I do not see any prerequisites to cancel our previous decisions," he said.
As reported Ukrzaliznytsia, to ensure the security of traffic, from December 27, 2014 announced that trains that would normally run to Crimea would terminate in stations at Novooleksiyivka and Kherson.
In addition, from December 26 last year the administration introduced a convention on prohibiting freight transportation by rail between the mainland of Ukraine and the Crimean peninsula.
