Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has reported that 2,000 Russian troops, with military equipment, have crossed the Ukrainian border.
"We have information that nearly 2,000 Russian troops crossed the Ukrainian border," Poroshenko said in an interview with Bloomberg Europe TV on Wednesday.
The head of state also said that nearly 20 tanks crossed into Ukraine, which promotes the escalation of the situation in Donbas, and that about 8,000 Russian servicemen remain in Ukrainian territory.
The president stressed that he still backs a peaceful settlement of the crisis, but a strict abiding by the Minsk Agreements is fundamental to achieving that.
