Poroshenko cuts short visit to Switzerland amid escalation of tensions in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is cutting short his visit to Switzerland. He will be back to Ukraine on Wednesday, presidential press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko tweeted.
"Poroshenko is maintaining permanent contact with our servicemen. The General Staff chief and the defense minister have just reported the status of the Donetsk airport and the 29th and 31st roadblocks. National Security and Defense Council Secretary Turchynov will fly to the ATO zone tomorrow. Amid the escalation of tensions, the president has decided to cut short his visit to Switzerland and to return to Ukraine tomorrow," the press secretary said.
Poroshenko was planned to attend a World Economic Forum session dedicated to Ukraine in Davos on Wednesday.
