Almost 60,000 refugees from Donbas and Crimea registered in Dnipropetrovsk region
As of the beginning of January 2015, a total of 59,600 refugees from Donbas and Crimea have been registered in Dnipropetrovsk region.
All retirees, families with children and families in need, out of the total number of refugees, receive proper welfare payments according to the place of actual residence in Dnipropetrovsk region, the department for social protection of people in Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration told journalists on Saturday.
In addition, persons, who have registered with facilities for the social protection of citizens, receive monetary aid to cover the costs of living, including utilities and communal payments.
"In 2014, 15,900 families received such aid worth a total of UAH 33.6 million," the department noted.
As reported, the deadline for registering refugees was prolonged until February 1, 2015.
