OSCE suggests stopping fire in Donetsk airport area for joint patrols
OSCE has agreed on the joint patrolling of the territory of Donetsk airport to prevent more deaths of civilians living in the surrounding area.
Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Alexander Hug said that an understanding was reached on a ceasefire and joint patrols of the airport grounds.
Unfortunately, the ceasefire regime did not last long and this did not permit us to go to the airport today, he said at a Wednesday briefing in Donetsk.
Hug promised to make efforts to prevent the deaths of civilians living in areas around the airport.
At our final meeting we agreed to bend all maximum efforts, we will be pushing our efforts for the ceasefire regime to be observed around the airport and also to avoid the deaths of civilians, he said.
