One civilian killed, two injured in militants' attack on populated area in Luhansk region
Militants' artillery, mortars and Grad rocket launchers kept bombing populated localities in the Ukraine-controlled areas of the Luhansk region last night, head of Luhansk regional state administration Hennadiy Moskal said.
Schastia, Triokhizbenka, Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote, Hirske and Chornukhyne were in the impact zone, Moskal's press service said on Tuesday. Schastia was damaged most as it lived through five mortar attacks during the day, he said.
A pedestrian suffered a fatal injury in the attack on a filtering station, he said. The 53-year-old man's leg was torn off and he bled to death. Two police officers protecting the filtering station were also injured. Both were taken to hospital, the report said.
Tensions persist in Stanytsia Luhanska which suffered three artillery and Grad attacks last night, Moskal said. The villages of Valuiske and Vilkhove adjacent to the district center were bombarded too.
