New European license plates to be issued in spring – Interior Ministry
The issue of new European registration plates for motor vehicles in Ukraine will begin on March 31, Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine, Chief of Staff Serhiy Chebotar has said.
"New license plates used towards the acquiring of membership in the EU will be implemented in Ukraine starting from March 31, 2015. Despite the economic difficulties connected to inflation, the price won't change, they will cost UAH 134," the Interior Ministry's press service quoted Chebotar.
According to him, the state Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine issued a patent for the Interior Ministry to manufacture new license plates for vehicles on September 24, 2014.
"From now on, license plates will be owned by the Interior Ministry, represented by the State Automobile Inspectorate. There will be no mediation by any other firms," reads the press service's statement.
