Poroshenko, Merkel agree to discuss Donbas settlement in Paris Jan 11
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine by telephone on Saturday, Poroshenko's press service reported.
"Poroshenko and Merkel proposed that all the parties negotiate their positions in compliance with the Minsk agreements at the nearest meeting of the trilateral working group," the press service said.
The Ukrainian and German leaders also agreed to meet briefly in Paris on January 11 to further coordinate the effort to settle the situation in Donbas, according to the press service.
"Both leaders will join a unity march, initiated by French President Francois Hollande in memory of the victims of the terror attacks in Paris on January 7 and 9, and a unity demonstration against the challenges of terrorism and intolerance," the report says.
