Poltorak vows soon to sack up to 200 people in offices of Defense Ministry and General Staff
The number of posts in the central offices of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will soon be reduced, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has said.
"A respective directive will be signed in the next few days. As a result of reform of the units of the Defense Ministry and the General Staff the number of posts in the Defense Ministry will be reduced by 125 and in the General Staff by 74," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Poltorak noted that the central office of the Defense Ministry consisted of 770 people and that of the General Staff included 700 people.
He said that six departments would be disbanded and 11 would be restructured in the Defense Ministry, whereas three new units would be created.
Poltorak also said that four departments would be disbanded and four more would be restructured in the General Staff.
