Ukrainian Defense Ministry not planning to transfer Navy headquarters from Odesa to Mykolaiv
Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has denied reports regarding plans to move the base of the Ukrainian Navy from Odesa to Mykolaiv.
"As for the transfer of the Navy's base from Odesa to Mykolaiv, I think that this shouldn't be done. We don't have such plans. When the final strategy [for the development of the Armed Forces] is completed, will make the final decision, but today we're not talking about the transfer of the Navy to Mykolaiv," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Earlier, a number of Ukrainian media outlets reported that the main base of the Ukrainian Navy could be moved to Mykolaiv.
