Russian Ambassador Zurabov remains in Kyiv for now, may go to Minsk soon - source
Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov who was representing Moscow at the Minsk negotiations on the Ukrainian peace process in September remained in Kyiv on Wednesday morning, a diplomat told Interfax.
'The ambassador is staying in Kyiv for now but it is not ruled out that he may soon depart for Minsk to partake in a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group," he said.
The Contact Group promoting peace in eastern Ukraine is due to convene in Minsk on Wednesday.
An agreement to hold the Contact Group meeting in Minsk was reached in a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Monday.
