President dismisses Portnov, Khoroshkovsky from NBU Council
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has dismissed Andriy Portnov and Valeriy Khoroshkovsky from the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The respective decision is stipulated in presidential decree No. 940/2014 of December 18, 2014.
As reported, Portnov and Khoroshkovsky, who earlier served as deputy head of the administration of President Viktor Yanukovych and head of the Security Service of Ukraine respectively, were included in the NBU Council in April 2010.
In accordance with the law on the National Bank of Ukraine, the president and the Verkhovna Rada each appoint seven NBU Council members. The term of office of members of the NBU Council is seven years.
