Poland ready to accommodate Ukrainian and Lithuanian military personnel in joint brigade - defense minister
Polish Defense Minister Tomasz Siemoniak has said that Poland is completely ready to accommodate Ukrainian and Lithuanian military personnel who will serve in the joint Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian brigade.
"I am very pleased that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko managed to see the infrastructure, and that everything is ready for the arrival of Ukrainian and Lithuanian officers," he said in Lublin on Thursday after the Ukrainian delegation headed by Poroshenko visited the base of the future joint brigade.
He noted that he was interested in the speedy arrival of Ukrainian and Lithuanian military personnel.
"I think that after today's statements by Mr. President Poroshenko, it will be the first months of next year," Siemoniak said, speaking about the beginning of the brigade's work.
He said that the first Ukrainian group would include 18 officers, and that the question of sending them to Poland would be discussed by the defense ministries of the two countries next week.
